Amy Winehouse Booted From Quincy Jones Tribute Album

After yet another blown gig, it appears that the only thing that Amy Winehouse is headlining this summer is her very own cancellation-palooza.

The latest: Uber-producer Quincy Jones has rescinded his invitation to Winehouse to record a song for a tribute album being compiled in his honor.

Winehouse had signed on to hit the studio with producer Mark Ronson to record a cover of Lesley Gore's sultry, Jones-produced 1964 hit "You Don't Own Me." But after waiting a year to hear a sample from the track and receiving nothing, Jones has revoked his invitation for Winehouse to appear on the record.

"The frustrating thing is what there is of the track sounds really good, but it looks like no one will ever get to hear it," a source told London tabloid The Daily Mirror. "Mark tried everything to get her back in the studio to finish it, but he's given up and everyone else is starting to too. Quincy Jones is one of the most respected men in the music industry, so it was a huge honor for Amy to be asked to record for him. To snub him is a big no-no."

Jones had also reportedly hoped to book the soulful songbird for a performance with Michael Jackson at a live concert celebrating the release of the album.

Ronson wasn't about to make excuses for his pal. "The track isn't finished and she's not around," he said. "If she's not here then, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it."

Winehouse is currently in St. Lucia, where she is said to be working on her much-anticipated forthcoming album. But tabloid reports have suggested Winehouse is boozing again and not working to complete the record -- and the recent cancellation of her comeback appearance at Island Records' 50th anniversary party didn't do much to quell those rumors.

I think people should stop paying attention to Amy until she ~*gets it together*~

at the '07 MTV Europe Music Awards she kind of sort of "performed" Back to Black and when she won Artists Choice she just looked confused and mumbled "fanks".
And that is what the papers talked about.
That is what the US MTV showed for EMA highlights. I watched the entire thing live, and I'd say those were the worst parts of the whole show.
I think it is insulting to the people who actually performed and were genuinely honored to be given an award.
btw, the best performance at the '07 EMA's was Babyshambles. If *Pete Doherty* can stop being a crack head for a second to do a performance, Amy has no excuse. She's trying to copy Pete Doherty's crackheadness anyway.

There are plenty of artists who do their jobs that can be written about.
