Beyonce, the Roots, Kendrick Lamar Will Play the First Annual BET Experience

Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Miguel, and more have been announced as performers for the first annual BET Experience at L.A. Live, a three-day concert showcase organized by the Viacom-owned cable channel. Not so modestly billed as “the greatest celebration of black music, entertainment, and culture ever,” the BET Experience runs from June 28 to 30 as part of this year’s BET Awards weekend.

According to the event’s website, Super Bowl show-stealer Beyoncé kicks off the series (and the North American leg of her upcoming Mrs. Carter Show World Tour) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on June 28, while Erykah Badu and comedian Mike Epps will light up the stage at Club Nokia that same night.

Day Two features the Roots at Club Nokia, plus a double-bill at the Staples Center from Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, with Miguel and ScHoolboy Q supporting. June 30 promises a set from R. Kelly, New Edition, and the Jacksons at the Staples Center. The BET Experience at L.A. Live will also host an exhibit at the Grammy Museum, as well as film screenings, seminars, and live tapings of BET’s 106 & Park program, as Paste points out.

Tickets go on sale February 11 at 10 a.m. PST. Various VIP packages, ranging froma mind-boggling $995 to $3,995 are also available. Exclusive invite-only events begin June 27. The 2013 BET Awards will broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre on June 30.
