Last weekend’s Coachella was packed to the tentpoles with star-studded collaborations: Drake joining Jhene Aiko, Blondie helping out Arcade Fire, and even Justin Bieber braving the afternoon heat to support Chance the Rapper. It’s hard to imagine how the festival’s second round, starting today, will come up with an unlikely pairing to beat one surfacing online from WXPN (via Pitchfork). Black Lips and Boy George each separately performed sets today for the Philadelphia radio station. On top of that, though, the Atlanta garage-rock delinquents and the ex-Culture Club pop idol joined force for a slightly gritty cover of T. Rex’s glam-rock staple “Bang a Gong (Get It On).” It’s now officially Friday, and the weekend looks like it already has some stiff competitition.
