Catch a ‘Break’ with Cinematics

Not only do you get to watch a sweet (and by sweet, we mean kinda creepy) video for “Break” from the U.K.’s latest buzz-amassing export, Glasgow-based dance-rock quartet the Cinematics, but you can also enter to win that song’s limited pressing as a 7″ single (only 500 were made) and their EP by emailing [email protected] now!

On forthcoming full-length Strange Education (out next Feb.), the Cinematics proffer stylish, British-ish dark and danceable pop, which have earned them tour spots supporting Ambulance LTD and the Editors. But with an arsenal of soaring ah ah ahs in epic choruses, they clearly have lethal weapons all their own. And they’re earning accolades for this from the likes of We Are Scientist’s Chris Cain, who makes a cameo in the video as a super-skeevy fan. He delivers frontman Scott Rinning a Chuckie-like doll in a ribbon-adorned package. “When I take the present home strange things start to occur,” Rinning told SPIN.com, referring to the clip’s nightmare sequence. “The video reminds me a little of Magic, a 1978 horror movie staring a young Anthony Hopkins.” Sweet dreams, Rinning.
