Watch Chad Smith Visit Led Zeppelin’s Old Recording Space

Chad Smith, Red Hot Chili Peppers

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has, it seems, set foot in a holy space for percussionists: Headley Grange, a house in England where Led Zeppelin recorded some of their most well-known work in the early ’70s. (Other big names who recorded there include Genesis, Bad Company and Fleetwood Mac.) According to Wondering Sound, Smith was reportedly the first to record drums there since his favorite drummer, Zeppelin’s John Bonham, did 40 years ago. Above, there’s a short clip of Smith walking on said sacred territory. Don’t miss the enthralled expression on his face, because that is what pure joy looks like.
