Diddy Sued For Alleged Assault

Hip-hop impresario and clothing entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs is being sued by Gerard Rechnitzer, a partygoer who claims Diddy assaulted him during a pre-Oscars party last week, MTV.com reports. Rechnitzer alleges the incident occurred at Teddy’s, a bar inside Los Angeles’ Roosevelt Hotel, Feb. 25. The suit states Rechnitzer returned from the bathroom to find Diddy chatting up his girlfriend. Rechnitzer then attempted to leave with his girlfriend, prompting Diddy to shout profanities at Rechnitzer, including “I’ll smack flames out your ass!” Next, the report alleges Combs “attacked, assaulted and battered” Rechnitzer, pushed his girlfriend, and attempted to spit on another female member of Rechnitzer’s entourage.

“It is just another example of an opportunist seeking to fabricate a lawsuit based on a flat-out lie to try to take advantage of Mr. Combs’ celebrity status,” Brafman said in a statement. “Mr. Combs did not hit anyone, and Mr. Rechnitzer suffered no injuries or damages whatsoever. There is no case. It is that simple.” Court dates have yet-to-be scheduled.
