Dungen’s Family Ties

Dungen may sound like the name of an ’80s hair metal group, but in the quartet’s native Swedish tongue, it translates to the slightly less hardcore, “The Grove.” Branching out from the brain of frontman and founder Gustav Ejstes, the fruits of the band’s labor are psychedelic rock jams sung entirely in Swedish. “Familj” (“family” to you monolingual English readers) achieves an easy, groovy vibe with bright harmonies and unexpected organ flourishes. Dungen’s fourth album, Tio Bitar (Ten Pieces), joins the Kemado family on May 15. BRIANA MOWREY
