He’s got the one of the biggest albums of the year (so far) — and now he may get the Grammys to prove it. Eminem leads the pack of the 2011 Grammy Nominees with 10 nominations, including a nod for his comeback Recovery in the Album of the Year category. Em also scored nominations for Song and Record for the Year for his smash collaboration with Rihanna, “Love the Way You Lie.”
But Arcade Fire could give Em a run for his Grammy glory. The Canadian collective is also gunning for Album of the Year for The Suburbs, alongside Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry. It’s the band’s first nomination in that category; the group was previously nominated for Best Alternative Album for 2004’s Funeral and 2006’s Neon Bible. Arcade Fire also picked up nominations in the Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and Best Alternative Album categories.
Bruno Mars also figures heavily in this year’s Grammys. The R&B singer picked up seven nominations, including Record of the Year and Best Rap Song for his B.o.B. collab “Nothin’ on You,” and he’s also a co-writer of Cee Lo’s “Fuck You,” which scored multiple noms. Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, and Jay-Z round out the list for most nominations with six apiece.
