Ida Maria’s killing it in 2009: Her album, Fortress Round My Heart, is one of this year’s best albums so far — and now she’s reeled in one of her idols to collaborate on a new single.

Iggy Pop contributes guest vocals on a brand new version of Fortress track “Oh My God” that hits radio this week — and is available for your exclusive listening pleasure below.

“I’ve been loving Iggy Pop since I first heard him,” Maria gushed to SPIN.com. “He is my muse… I wanted to do a song with him and I thought ‘Oh My God’ would be perfect, so I asked him and he loved it and it turned out the most euphoric supernatural sound I could ever imagine.”

The duo wasn’t able to record “Oh My God” together, in person, but they’ll be meeting up in Miami later this month to shoot a video for the track. Pop delivers his lines with his deepest, froggiest growl, a quirky but effective counterbalance to Maria’s full-bore holler.

The Ida Maria collaboration is just one of many projects on Pop’s plate of late. He’s cranked out songs with Fatboy Slim (on his Brighton Port Authority project) and ex-Be Your Own Pet singer Jemina Pearl (for her forthcoming solo debut, out Oct. 6) — not to mention his new solo album, Préliminaires.

Check out Ida and Iggy’s “Oh My God” right here — it’ll be available for purchase on iTunes starting Aug. 31.
