Feist: “I Need a Rest from Music”

It appears those furry rascals on Sesame Street may have worn out ol’ Feist, for the north-of-the-border singer is planning to step away from music and “rest for a minute” after the mind-boggling success of her album The Reminder. [Via NME.com].

“[My career] has become kind of large and it really began for me very, very small, like me alone in my bedroom with my four-track and a pair of headphones,” she told the Canadian Press. “I just need to go back there for a while to get my bearings again and then know what to do next.”

“Next,” however, doesn’t seem to include a collaboration with Toronto collective Broken Social Scene, of which she is an original member. “It’s not really as interesting for me as it once was,” she said. “[It] would be like a reunion to be able to hang out with everyone — but I can do that around a kitchen table.”
