Filter, Disturbed Rock Out in Kuwait, Spin Tags Along

News

Filter, Disturbed, DJ-Z Trip, Jessica Simpson, the Pussycat Dolls, and comedian/host Carlos Mencia are heading to Kuwait as part of Operation MySpace, a landmark, three-hour concert event for the troops on March 10. And to document the unique experience for SPIN.com, our own Peter Gaston will go along for the ride, rubbing elbows with the bands and MySpace co-founders Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe while delivering behind-scenes-footage in a series of video blog posts.

MySpace users can stream the event live in high-definition Flash video via the official Operation MySpace profile. The webcast begins at 2 P.M. EST March 10.

"For years, troops stationed all over the world have utilized MySpace as a lifeline to communicate with their loved ones back home. Many of them have been generous enough to share their unique experiences with me through messages on MySpace," Anderson said in a statement. "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to thank them in person and bring along the entire MySpace community."

Be sure to log on to SPIN.com March 9 when Gaston touches down in the Middle East, and check back through March 11 as he posts video blogs chronicling the event and his time in Kuwait.
