Foo Fighters Played a Secret London Show in a Converted Railroad Tunnel

Foo Fighters Holy Shits Railroad Tunnel Secret Show

As Foo Fighters gear up for the release of their eighth studio album Sonic Highways, it seems they’re intent on providing their fans with some unique live experiences before they launch into the inevitable stadium tour that’ll follow. After a show that shut down a whole New Orleans block and a couple of jager-slinging secret shows, the Foos picked up that torch again this week in England reviving their Holy Shits moniker for a couple of intimate performances. The first in Brighton saw the inclusion of a Foo Fighters cover band, but Thursday night’s set was even more special, taking place in a converted railroad tunnel underneath London’s Waterloo Station.

For years, the venue existed as The Old Vic Tunnels, but it recently reopened as the London location of the House of Vans, and as you can see in the videos above and below it still retains the look and feel of a cavernous brick train track. As for the show itself, the band put on a career-spanning set of hits, as well as a track or two that they normally don’t break out for live sets—including their self-titled debut’s “Weenie Beenie” which they haven’t played since 2009. Catch video of “Arlandria” above, and a couple more videos below via Consequence of Sound, along with the setlist according to Rolling Stone.
