Kid Sister broke out two years ago with the hip-hop throwback “Pro Nails,” featuring guest verses from mentor Kanye West, but she veered into club and electronic music territory on her debut album Ultraviolet.

The Chicago rapper, however, has returned with a free new mixtape titled Kiss Kiss Kiss – and she’s going back to the hip-hop sounds that made her a breakout act in 2008. Head over here to pick it up (you’ll need to enter an email address).

On Kiss Kiss Kiss, Kid Sister finds inspiration in everyone from current rappers like M.I.A. to old-school hip-hop acts like Salt-N-Pepa. The title track fuses sexy, lo-fi baile funk grooves with Euro disco synths, while “Look Out Weekend” updates the classic hip-hop sound of pioneering female rappers like L’Trimm with thumping 808 beats and wonky synth melodies. There are also samples of Prince’s classic track “Kiss” and a guest appearance from Gucci Mane, who drops by for the hot “Gucci Rag Top.”

Check out the tracklisting below, and let us know what you think of Kid Sister’s latest in the comments.
