The Recording Academy has announced the Grammy nominees for Album of the Year. Beck, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and Pharrell Williams are all competing for the annual ceremony’s top honor. Beck’s nod comes on behalf of his Morning Phase LP; Bey’s is, of course, for her self-titled, surprise-released blockbuster from last December; Ed Sheeran earned his slot with his X full-length; Sam Smith is repping for In the Lonely Hour; and Pharrell received a hat tip (sorry, couldn’t resist) for G I R L.

The hopefuls were revealed on Friday night at the end of A Very Grammy Christmas, an hour-long, holiday-themed televised special that aired on CBS, which was hosted by LL Cool J, and featured live performances by Smith, Maroon 5, Ariana Grande, Mary J. Blige, and more.

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and will be broadcast live on CBS, beginning at 8 p.m. EST. To see who else is eligible for Grammys, check out SPIN‘s full list of the nominees.
