Green Day Reissue Entire Catalog on Vinyl

Attention LP aficionados and Green Day die-hards: While the world awaits their eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, due out in May, Billie Joe Armstrong and the boys have announced a campaign to reissue their entire catalog on vinyl over the remainder of 2009!

The reissue campaign begins March 24, when Green Day’s first two records — 1990’s 39/Smooth and 1992’s Kerplunk — will re-release on vinyl. The band’s third record, 1994’s breakthrough smash Dookie, will drop April 18, just in time for Record Store Day.

Green Day’s record label, Reprise, will continue to release vinyl versions of the band’s entire catalog over the rest of the year, including 2001’s greatest hits compilation International Superhits!, 2002’s rarities collection Shenanigans, and 2005’s live set Bullet in a Bible. A full schedule of release dates are listed below.

21st Century Breakdown will be made available on vinyl following its May release.
