Hot Chip, the Knife to Play CMJ 2006

The preliminary lineup for this year's CMJ Music Marathon has been announced, and the list already features a slew of hotly buzzed-about up'n'comers like Hot Chip, the Knife, the Black Keys, Deerhoof, Silversun Pickups, Dr. Dog, Professor Murder, Thunderbirds Are Now!, Cold War Kids, and Blonde Redhead. The event, which has been showcasing new music since 1981, will take over NYC's music venues for five nights (Oct. 31-Nov. 4). More musicians, as well as a series of panels and film screenings, will be announced as the festival approaches.
