Let's face it: Kanye West and MTV awards shows have a relationship that's almost as tumultuous as that of Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil.

West and MTV are on the rocks again, but this time it's for an award he did receive [via NME.com]. The rapper says that the only reason he bested Lil' Wayne for the Ultimate Urban award was because he was present at the show -- and pointed to Britney Spears' Best Act of 2008 win (over Rihanna) and Rick Astley's designation as Best Act Ever (over U2, Green Day, and pretty much everyone, ever!) as further evidence that the show's results were weighted favorably towards those who RSVP'd "yes." Kanye's got a point, at least with when it comes to Astley: We can't imagine that the "Never Gonna Give You Up" crooner's schedule wasn't, you know, a little bit flexible.
But it seems West may have much bigger problems: Death Row Records boss/general thuggish presence Suge Knight is a bit upset about being shot in the leg at one of his parties.
