Kanye West Debuts ‘U Mad’ at Last-Minute London Show With Vic Mensa

Kanye West

Kanye West’s on something of a roll this week. After dropping the mastered version of “All Day” — which features Theophilus London, Allan Kingdom, and Ye’s new partner-in-crime Paul McCartney — the rap god headlined a last-minute concert in London during which he brought a coterie of rappers diverse enough to populate a small country. There was Big Sean, who popped his head in for his Dark Sky Paradise cut, “Blessings,” and CyHi the Prynce for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy‘s “So Appalled.” British grime rapper Skepta made an appearance for his own single, “That’s Not Me,” before Kanye invited Wu-Tang legend Raekwon out for “C.R.E.A.M.” and Ye’s own “Blood on the Leaves.”

Breathe for a second, because we’re not done. Late in the night at his Koko show, Yeezy brought out Chicago upstart Vic Mensa — who’s already featured on new album So Help Me God‘s “Wolves,” which Kanye premiered at New York Fashion Week last month — for “U Mad,” (also rumored to be titled “Why U Mad,” not to be confused with the Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Birdman track of the same name) yet another new song from the upcoming album which is hopefully already on your iPhone and your Android and your mom’s tapedeck that she keeps in the basement for special occasions.

“U Mad” is a horn-heavy trap banger that sounds like a King Louie production much in line with Chief Keef’s “Don’t Like.” It’s got hints of Drake’s “Trophies” and a smack upside the head by way of A$AP Rocky’s “PMW.” Watch it above (beware of the awful sound quality), check out the set list below, and look for this Kanye album to impact any day now.
