Kings of Leon Cancel Gig, R.E.M. Tease LP + More

  • Kings of Leon were forced to cancel a gig at London’s O2 Arena yesterday after a tour bus caught fire outside the venue. Firefighters treated six unidentified people for smoke inhalation and no major injuries have been reported. The band will reschedule the show at a later date. [The O2’s Official Site]

  • R.E.M. have released a two minute trailer previewing tracks from their upcoming album Collapse Into Now, out in March. The clip shows the alt-rock vets rehearsing new tracks “All the Best,” “Mine Smells Like Honey,” “Every Day Is Yours to Win,” “Oh My Heart,” and more. Watch it below.

  • Badly Drawn Boy‘s Damon Gough has apologized for a profanity-laced tirade he unleashed at a recent Los Angeles show, where he complained of sound problems and told the crowd to “Shut up!” “There is no one more upset at the situation than myself,” he wrote on his Facebook page. “As an artist, you only want to do the job to the best of your ability…when that is compromised, there is a tendency to get frustrated.” [Badly Drawn Boy’s Facebook page]

  • Watch the New Pornographers perform a stripped-back acoustic version of their song “Adventures in Solitude” below. The Canadian power-pop collected contributed the song for the It Gets Better project, which aims to prevent suicide among LGBT teens. Get more info here.
