Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant may have no plans to rejoin the seminal hard rock band for a forthcoming world tour, but according to bassist John Paul Jones, the singer's decision isn't diminishing the remaining members' drive to crank up the volume.

"He [Plant] really doesn't want to make loud music anymore," Jones explained [via eGigs.co.uk]. "We do. I mean, I love acoustic music, but it doesn't stop me from turning something up."

And it seems the Plant-less trio aren't looking to quiet down anytime soon as they continue to practice -- with a few new singers at the mic! "Jimmy [Page], Jason [Bonham, son of original drummer John], and I are actually rehearsing and we've had the odd singer come in and have a bash," Jones said. "We really hope that something is going to happen soon because we really want to do it and we're having a lot of fun, actually, just rehearsing."

So does this mean Dee Snider's not completely crazy!?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this... Plant doesn't want to tour with Zep because he can't do the screams and yells like he used to, and so a lot of their songs would need to be altered in some way. To his credit, he still has a great voice, and who could still do the "battle cry" from Immigrant Song at 60? Many of Plant's comments about the situation have made him sound like quite an a--hole. Where would he be if Page didn't give him a chance to be in the band? Sure, he probably would have made it at some point, but with the same measure of success he obtained with Led Zeppelin? I doubt it. Plant should suck it up, get off his high horse, come out of his ivory tower, and whatever cliche would fit here, and join the band (again). Altering the songs himself would be much better than an Alter Bridge singer doing it or Steven Tyler doing it, and no disrespect is meant to either of those singers. It's just that Led Zeppelin would still be the best with the original singer.
