I LOVE IT~!!!!!!!!! it's their best work in over a decade. The last album was very good but this is better! This one grabs you from start to finish... what a tune to open the album with - "see my friend" - amazing!!!!er

It's wierd, I've loved this band since 1992. I dubbed the tape from a friend and listened to it while I worked as a sandwich artist (i.e. Subway). I can't say I've really disliked one of their songs. Well, if I think hard enough I could probably think of at least one...

Anyway, I need to see them again...just can't figure out when/how!!!

Cinematic Rock meets Modern Garage? Excellent! Thank you PJ and Brendan O' Brien. And who played all the keys?

@RAAMY:

I'm 99.95% sure Boom Gaspar (spelling?). Although, since I'm also pretty damn sure Brendan O'Brien plays just about every instrument known to man, he may have tickled a few keys on this (unbelievably, awesome/no-need- to-put-anymore-stank-on-this!!!) album as well.

Everything they did between "Avacado" and Backspacer needs to be done again!!! This album couldn't be any better!!!

i heard the album at least three times and sticking to my opinion even before i bought.....which i posted on the review page.....a couple of sentimental good songs i have to edmit....but here's my opinion again to a great band...and it goes like this"i think pearl jam has done better work with out trying...when they have tried it comes out bad....they from my opinion....need to express what they learned in life....even if is something we all might not like...but at least it makes a point...to try to influence us politically eddie vedder has over done it....i sent a message to their myspace.com page as well.....they don't help themselves considering radiohead,muse and other great bands who are not affraid of what eddie is.....and that is the new internet music....i will buy the album...am i going to stick to it like some other times..it doesn't sound like it from the video clip on mspace.com page they have running...this band used to not need to tell us that their lirics are better than other bands....and they do in the clip...eddie's voice still sounds good....but is in hidding....the lirics....have to be about him coming of age...like bob dylan and neil young...that's what i would like to see them come to in terms on longetivity"...please reply with a positive feedback towards band...not a negative towards a fan like me who only wan them to do better..

Thanks, that's what I figured. But then there's a mysterious 'P' under instruments for Ament. And there's no mention of Boom anywhere in the sleeve. (I'm referring to the Australian early release sleeve notes). So my money's on Brendan. (But wouldn't it be fun if it was Ament).

Have to admit...have not been a fan of them over the years but this album truly blew me away. I've always thought they were the most overrated band on the planet. I thought I'd listen to a couple of tracks, write them off once again....but this is one hell of an album. Very surprised.
