What could have possibly brought 3D, the leader of Brit trip-hop act Massive Attack, and SoCal rapper Snoop Dogg together in musical collaboration? Imprisoned political activist Mumia Abu-Jamal.

The two decidedly different musicians recently recorded "Calling Mumia" for In Prison My Whole Life, a forthcoming documentary about Jamal, a former journalist and Black Panther member who is imprisoned on death row after being convicted of murdering a policeman in Philadelphia in 1981. The fairness of Jamal's trial and imprisonment has been under constant scrutiny for more than 25 years, a struggle which Snoop addresses in the hard-hitting tune's lyrics.

The track is currently streaming on Massive Attack's website. Have a listen here, and offer your thoughts on the song in the comment section below.
