If mice ran their own miniature version of MTV, the video for Margot & the Nuclear So & So’s “Quiet as a Mouse” would undoubtedly be banned. The animated clip opens with brilliant swirls of crayons and watercolors. While this sounds benign, the video then follows demonic cats as they pillage a mice-inhabited island utopia. “You can hide quiet as a mouse / they’ll find you out,” frontman Richard Edward warns just before the cartoon tyrannical felines begin wreaking havoc on unsuspecting mice with nowhere to run.
