Mark Ronson Producing Amy, Slash, Elton, and... Kevin Bacon?

The sought-after knob twiddler adds John to his project list -- which puts him just six steps from Bacon.

Mark Ronson is set to be the next Kevin Bacon. And by that we mean, pretty soon the producer extraordinaire will be connected to everybody -- you know, through at most six steps.

Currently, Ronson is working with Amy Winehouse on a track for a Quincy Jones tribute album, has been linked to Slash's forthcoming solo effort, and recently finished up producing the Rumble Strips' second album. And now the dapper Brit has yet another project lined up -- a new album from Mr. "Benny and the Jets" himself.

Ronson has been recruited to produce Elton John's next album, set to be released in 2009 courtesy of Universal/Republic [via NME.com].

Okay, so let's connect the dots between Ronson and Bacon: Ronson 1) frequently collaborates with Lily Allen, who 2) co-hosted British GQ's Men of the Year awards with Elton John (who told Allen he could "snort her under the table" during the presentation), whose 3) song "Honky Cat" appeared in the film Sliding Doors, which 4) starred Gwyneth Paltrow, who 5) was in Shakespeare in Love with Colin Firth, who 6) was in Where the Truth Lies with Kevin Bacon.

We rest our case.
