Melvins Invite Apocalypse in Cartoon ‘Warhead’ Video

melvins, venom, warhead, everybody loves sausages

The Melvins have dropped a video for “Warhead,” a fire-bombing salvo found on the sludge-metal vets’ 2013 covers album, Everybody Loves Sausages. Speaking to SPIN about the track, which is originally by English head-bangers Venom, Melvins frontman Buzz Osbourne said, “I think a bunch of people dismiss these guys because their records aren’t perfect-sounding and the silly Satanic stuff, but I always thought that’s what was good about them.”

Well, King Buzzo and co. don’t leave any room for misunderstanding with the song’s video. Directed by Kyle Westbrook, the animated clip eschews subtlety and delivers exactly what one would expect for a song titled “Warhead” that appears on an album called (lest we forget) Everybody Loves Sausages — meaning, the visual features a bunch of cartoon sausage links, and other food products, that get caught right in the fallout of a nuclear blast zone. Watch the destruction unfold above.
