Spike Lee’s ‘Bad 25’ Trailer Touts Michael Jackson’s Greatest Accomplishments

Bad 25, Spike Lee’s documentary about the making and legacy of Michael Jackson’s canonical 1987 album Bad, begins its limited theatrical run in New York on October 19 and in Los Angeles on October 26 (courtesy Shadow and Act), but the rest of the country will have to wait until Thanksgiving to see the film. Mercifully, a trailer has been released to promote ABC’s November 22 broadcast of the music doc.

The just-over-a-minute preview rattles off the impressive CV for Jackson’s Bad: 45 million copies sold, five consecutive No. 1 hits, and, at the 0:13 mark, the power to bring women to tears. It also packs in quotes from Sheryl Crow and Martin Scorsese, teases the promise of “never before seen footage,” and even features a cameo from Tower Records.

Bad 25 airs on ABC on November 22 at 9:30 p.m. EST.
