R&B riser Miguel lit up The Late Show with David Letterman last night with a smart live rendition of his increasingly inescapable “Adorn” from the SPIN Essential Kaleidoscope Dream. Of course, it helped that he filled the room with smoke first. “And remember,” the host quipped when Miguel’s band wrapped, “check the batteries in your smoke detectors annually.” As they say, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. If Miguel’s performance doesn’t leave you smoldering on the inside, well, you might want to get your own batteries checked. He’ll be hitting the road with Trey Songz next month.
