Just as Os Mutantes will kick-off their upcoming spring U.S. tour, the Brazilian psych-pop trailblazers will release their next full-length, Fool Metal Jack, on April 30 via Krian Music. The forthcoming LP will be the follow-up to 2009’s Haih… Or Amortecedor and the band’s second studio album since reuniting in 2006. An official track list hasn’t been revealed yet, but as Pitchfork points out, Krian has shared 80-second snippets of four croaking, ramshackle tracks slated for the new effort. From April 27 to June 23, Os Mutantes will play gigs in several U.S. cities, including Austin, Tucson, San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland, before taking the stage at Wilco’s Solid Sound Music and Arts Festival, which is scheduled to take place from June 21 to 23.
