A Perfect Circle Plot Summer Tour

After a six-year hiatus, alt-rock supergroup A Perfect Circle reformed early last fall for a U.S. tour, and on Monday the quintet announced an upcoming summer trek that will end almost exactly one year after the initial news of their reunion. Which makes A Perfect Circle’s return, like, almost a perfect circle.

The band — Maynard James Keenan (Tool, Puscifer), Billy Howerdel (Ashes Divide), James Iha (ex-Smashing Pumpkins), Josh Freese (Weezer, Devo) and Matt McJunkins (Puscifer) — will kick off the 23-date trek in May, beginning at Ohio’s Rock on the Range festival. They’ll cross the country from Portland, OR, to New York City, playing big arenas, coliseums, and ballrooms along the way.

What’s next for Keenan after the jaunt? Well, in September he’ll most likely return to his Arizona vineyard to harvest grapes for his Caduceus Wines brand.

More material from Tool is also in the works. “They are getting together and writing,” Keenan said last fall of his bandmates drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, and bassist Justin Chancellor. “I’ll be popping back into L.A. soon to check in.”
