When news broke earlier this week regarding the forthcoming solo set from Peter Morén, frontman of Swede sensations Peter Bjorn and John, details were a bit murky. But alas, just days later the haze has cleared, albeit slightly, to reveal The Last Tycoon, the tentative title of Morén's debut. The album, recorded in apartments and rehearsal spaces, is inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald's unfinished final novel The Love of the Last Tycoon and director Elia Kazan's film adaptation, The Last Tycoon, and is currently in the mixing stage, confirms a spokesperson. Though a solo offering, the opus does include a few collaborators -- no, not Bjorn or John; Concretes guitarist Daniel Värjö, singer/songwriter Tobias Fröberg, and string arranger Leo Svensson all lend their prowess. A full tracklisting has yet-to-be revealed, as has a release date and record label, but a few song titles have leaked, including "Social Competence," "This is What I Came For," "Le Petite Coeur," and "I Don't Gaze at the Sky for Long." Willowz Map Tour

Los Angeles-based garage rockers the Willowz have unveiled a 22-date North American tour alongside disco-punk outfit Electric Six, set to kick off Nov. 13 in Philadelphia. In support of Chautauqua, the Willowz's third album out now on Dim Mak, the outing will then hit cities up and down the East Coast from New York to Orlando, and inland outposts like Dallas, Kansas City, and Cleveland.

Winehouse Cancels mtvU Woodies Gig, Tokyo Police Club Added

Surprise, surprise: Brit songbird Amy Winehouse has canceled her performance at the 2007 mtvU Woodie Awards ceremony, slated for Nov. 8 at New York City's Roseland Ballroom. But wait, before you curse the "Rehab" songstress for her inability to buckle down, escape the substance abuse, and get her self stateside, please consider one thing: visa issues. Indeed, this cancellation, though very familiar from Winehouse, is not accompanied by an "exhaustion" or "personal issues" scapegoat. Remember that run in with Norway's finest a few weeks ago? Well, it may have a little something to do with Winehouse's newfound failure to breach the U.S. border. But to balance the loss, MTV has added Tokyo Police Club to the performing bill, and expects to "announce her replacement soon."
