I realize that they were mention in the column, and I must implore that FUGAZI is the poster boy for rock enigma. Ever since my exposure to them early in my teen years, there was mystery and folklore surrounding them. Being from the suburbs, it was not often that I met someone who knew of them, but when I did, there was always a qualifier that had to be offered. "Hey man, I heard that they are homeless. By choice!" To which the other party, with wide eyes inevitably reported "I heard that! I also heard that not only are they all Vegan, but they only eat rice." I mentioned the Fugazi phenomenon to a friend recently. His response? "Fugazi? Didn't they all move to France?" I rest my case.

I heard that the all female 3 piece band L7, were infamous for taking their tampons out onstage and throwing them at the audience. I heard this 11 years ago when I was a lot more naive, and I believed it. Now when I listen to my L7 albums it just makes me laugh cause I think that can't possibly be true.... can it?

Did Jim Morrison flash the audience at a Doors concert in Miami in 1969? As Ray Manzarek says in VH1's "The Story of: The Doors", "Either Jim took his **** out in front of 14,000 people and nobody took a picture, or it didn't happen."
