Prince invited LA radio station Indie 103 to his house Thursday to preview his new album, which is reportedly finished. The Purple One then granted the station permission to play four tracks on the air.

Revealing the album to be decidedly guitar-rock-leaning in sound, the songs touch lyrically on themes close to the artist's personal life, including record label travails on "Colonized Mind" ("Did you know your record deal was another way for 'The Man' to steal") and romantic relationships on "Wall of Berlin." (Read full review here.)

But the tune we're most excited about is the cover of Tommy James & the Shondells' "Crimson & Clover" -- which comes complete with an "Ooh baby, I think I love you" at the chorus (in the manner of Jimi Hendrix's "Foxy Lady").

No word yet on when the album will be out, or via what non-label-related means. In the meantime, if anyone diminutive and prone to wearing jumpsuits and throwing surprise late-night shows is reading this and wants to invite us over during the holidays to listen to the rest of the album, we're available.
