Now that Coachella has revealed its 2012 lineup, festival headliners are free to schedule tour dates around the event without accidentally letting the cat out of the bag. Radiohead have done just that, announcing a run of new arena shows that will complement its top-billed Coachella Saturday sets.
As confirmed last night, Thom Yorke and Co. will be headlining the newly expanded two-week festival in Indio, California, on April 14 and April 21. Leading up to the big event, Radiohead will kick off the West Coast leg of their tour in Seattle on April 9, followed by stops in San Jose, California, on April 11 and in Santa Barbara, California, on April 12. The British rockers will then play a couple of previously scheduled dates in Mexico City before coming back for round two of Coachella.
Radiohead have previously only played two dates in the States supporting last year’s The King of Limbs: a pair of very sold-out shows at New York’s Roseland Ballroom that coincided with their Saturday Night Live appearance in September.

Fans in other regions need not worry about being left high and dry: Additional shows are expected to be unveiled soon. Just don’t be the jerk who calls out requests for one of the band’s purported 1980s-era demos!
