Rare Isaac Brock Track, Gucci Mane Mixtape + More

  • Modest Mouse‘s Isaac Brock has released an old demo from 1993 titled “Dead End Job at the Dead Letter Office,” which will be featured on the benefit compilation Live From Nowhere Near You. The record also features rare tracks by Jeff Tweedy, the ShinsJames Mercer, Elliott Smith, and more.   • Gucci Mane may be in jail for parole violation, but a new mixtape by the rapper has hit the web. Head to NahRight to download the 19 track set, which features production by Lex Lugar, Fat Boy, Southside, Drumma Boy, and more.

  • Kings of Leon‘s revealing documentary Talihina Sky, which premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, will premiere nationally on Showtime on August 21 at 10 P.M./ET. The movie traces the group’s rise from their humble Tennessee roots to global rock stars.

  • Dave Sitek has teamed up again with Theophilus London for a track titled “Field of Dreams,” the duo’s second collaboration after working together for Sitek’s side-project Maximum Balloon. Head to Some Kind of Awesome to download the track, a glossy, synthed-out slab of ’80s excess pop.

  • Arcade Fire, the Weeknd, and Destroyer have topped the shortlist for the Polaris Music Prize, which honors the best album by a Canadian artist. Braids, Timber Timbre, and Austra have also been nominated for the award, which will be announced September 19. [Polaris Music Prize]

    Since I Left You, the classic debut album by Australian turntablists/producers Avalanches, will get the deluxe reissue treatment for its tenth anniversary. The set, which does not have a release date yet, will feature a bonus disc of remixes by Black Dice, El Guincho, MF Doom, and more. Stream Stereolab‘s take on “Since I Left You” below.
