Riot Fest Celebrates Tenth Anniversary With Ten Performances of Classic Albums

Earlier this week, organizers for Riot Fest Chicago announced the annual showcase’s 2014 lineup, featuring the Cure, Jane’s Addiction, the Flaming Lips, Weezer, the National, and Pussy Riot, among others. Now, they’ve sweetend the deal and revealed that in honor of the festival’s tenth anniversary, ten bands on the roster will be performing one of their classic albums in full.

These special performances will include: Slayer playing Reign in Blood; Jane’s Addiction doing Nothing’s Shocking; Descendents breaking out Milo Goes To College; Glenn Danzig’s Samhain playing their debut, Initium; Naked Raygun doing Throb Throb; the Get Up Kids playing Something to Write Home About; and 20th anniversary renditions of Weezer’s Blue Album, NOFX’s Punk in Drublic, and the Offspring’s Smash. One more performance is yet to be announced.

Weezer, Slayer and NOFX will reprise these sets at Riot Fest Denver a week later. Tickets are still available for both the Chicago and Denver iterations of the fest, which go down September 12 to 14 and 19 to 21 respectively.
