On WB11's morning show this week, Spin assistant editor Kyle Anderson lent insight into why there's been an influx of sensitive-guy balladeers. Anderson attributed the success of such wounded souls as James Blunt, Daniel Powter, the Fray, and Nick Lachey to the universality of their lyrics. "We've all had bad days, we all think people are beautiful," Anderson said. But do these lyrics make the men singing them seem weak? Anderson suggested their fame and popularity offset any suggestion of wussiness, and that this trend of emotional crooners is only just beginning.
