Ryan Adams appeared on Ellen yesterday morning to play the audience something good. Literally.
Adams, who is promoting both his recent punk EP 1895 and also September’s self-titled LP, delighted Ellen Degeneres and her audience with a rousing performance of “Gimme Something Good.” All the lucky audience members also got a copy of Ryan Adams, as long as they promised not to talk ask him about his wife, Mandy Moore.
The former Whiskeytown member has been playing “Something Good” a lot recently, sometimes twice in a row. He also played it on CBS’ Late Show last month, and notable music enthusiast David Letterman was so impressed that he requested an encore.
