The Killers’ Direct Hits compilation already has one new ’80s-inspired jam, M83 team-up “Shot at the Night,” and now the deluxe edition gets another in the form of Calvin Harris’ remix of “When You Were Young.” The Scottish DJ adds a pounding, urgent beat to the Sam’s Town single, replete with surging synths.
Aside from “Shot at the Night,” the Killers’ best-of album also delivers another new track, “Just Another Girl.” Frontman Brandon Flowers recently told NME, “This record feels like a great way to clean everything up and move on to the next thing.” He added that coming up with new songs “threw me for a curveball. I’m always writing, it’s like second nature to me now, but I’m always analyzing what I’ve got, and doubts can start creeping into your head. But I’m really happy with the songs we’ve got to add to the list.”
