The Replacements Will Reissue All Their Studio Albums in a New Box Set

the replacements, coachella 2014

The reunited Replacements have been playing shows and discussing new material for the past couple of years, but to tide fans over before that rumored new album, it’ll soon be possible to purchase a box set containing the Minnesota band’s entire existing discography. Come April 16, Rhino will release the eight-disc The Complete Studio Albums 1981-1990, which will contain the 2008 remasters of all seven Replacements albums, from 1981’s Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash to 1990’s All Shook Down, as well as the gloriously snotty 1982 EP The Replacements Stink. It will sadly not include the wonderfully titled 1985 bootleg-turned-semiofficial live document, The Shit Hits the Fans, which has never been released on CD.

The box set announcement includes a press release supposedly marked up in red pen by the band themselves (“CLAYMATION!!”), which you can read below with their upcoming tour dates. We can’t hardly wait.
