  • Tom Waits is in the studio cutting a new album, his team announced on his official Twitter. It will be Waits’ first album 2006’s three-disc collection Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards. No release date has been announced. [Tom Waits’ Twitter]

  • A British director/LCD Soundsystem fan has created an awesome tribute video for the band’s “Dance Yrself Clean,” starring Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal, and other characters from the Muppets. Kermit (via another fan) previously channeled frontman James Murphy in 2009 with a version of “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down.” Watch below. We highly recommend getting through to the three-minute mark, about when Animal kicks in with the song’s massive drum loop.

  • Spanish musician-actress Charo had some harsh words for Lady Gaga. In a radio interview with Sirius XM, Charo slammed Gaga for copying Madonna‘s “Express Yourself” in her new single “Born This Way.” “I can tell you, to me, Lady Gaga is Madonna with diarrhea,” Charo said. [New York Daily News]

  • Marilyn Manson‘s drummer Ginger Fish has quit the band after 15 years. “I have decided to step down as a member of Marilyn Manson and see where my life, and the knowledge of my availability cares to take me,” he vaguely said in a statement. Manson, who has been freed from his contract with Interscope Records, is working on his first album since 2009’s The High End of Low. [NME]
