Tyga Is Attempting to Sever His Cash Money Ties

As a record label, Cash Money has had a chunk of problems come to light in recent months. Last year, Lil Wayne publically declared that he wanted out of his relationship with the Birdman-fronted organization, as it was sitting on the release of his long-awaited Tha Carter V, and soon thereafter filed a lawsuit against the team. Earlier this month, Drake dropped a surprise album/mixtape on iTunes, which many perceived as the Toronto rapper’s way of working his way out of his Cash Money contract.

Now Tyga — who is maybe dating a 17-year-old, which Drake called out on If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late — has expressed his own interest in severing ties with the label. During an interview with Chris Brown on this morning’s “Ebro in the Morning” show on Hot 97, the “Make It Nasty” rapper told the show’s hosts, “I’m getting out the deal now. I was supposed to be out the deal. They agreed a number to let me out the deal. I was going to pay them to let me out the deal because I ain’t petty — I just want to move on with my life.” Watch that entire interview above.
