Van Halen Plot Fest Gig, Lil Wayne Unplugged + More

  • Three years after wrapping up their massive reunion tour in 2008, Van Halen will return in 2011 by headlining Australia’s Soundwave Revolution, a traveling fest that takes place September 24-October 3. Hole, Alice Cooper, Bad Religion, and Panic! at the Disco are also scheduled to perform. The Van Halen news comes months after Live Nation CEO Irving Azoff, who promoted the band’s last tour, said he was “optimistic” about another trek.   • As he gears up for the June 21 release of Tha Carter IV, Lil Wayne has filmed an episode of MTV Unplugged, which will feature stripped-back version of his hits. The episode airs on MTV2, MTV, and MTV.com on June 12 at 9 PM (EST). [MTV]

  • In advance of its May 16 release, NPR has a stream of Kate Bush‘s Director’s Cut, which features re-worked versions of tunes from the British singer-songwriter’s own 1989 album The Sensual World and her 1993 release The Red Shoes. Listen to it here.
