Video Battle: Killers vs. Modest Mouse
Modest Mouse and the Killers both have new music videos -- and they both unfold in a forest. Whoda thunk it: Isaac Brock and Brandon Flowers actually have something in common… and that might be the only thing. Ever.

MM's clip for "Satellite Skin," a song from their upcoming No One's First And You're Next EP, goes for a weird, unsettling vibe courtesy of director Kevin Willis' tiny, animated wooden houses and alien-like creatures, who hatch birds from their eyes!
The video for the Killers' Day and Age cut "The World We Live In," on the other hand, features the four boys strolling around a Bob Ross-like forest while frontman Brandon Flowers preens (appropriately, in a feathered jacket) amongst a snowy, mountainous landscape.

are you kidding me? of course MM is better!! the killers absolutely blow, everyone knows it,
are you kidding me? Of course The world we live in is way better than the MM video, everyone knows it.
The killers all the way!!!
Um, I think what Gilmania wanted to say before she (he?) got cut off was...the Killers absolutely blow the competition out of the water.... That's right. But you already knew that, didn't you? Of course you did!
One more time, with eloquence--the Killers tame the wild world we live in with music, books, and the poetry of their lyrics. In this case their beauty tamed the beast....
omg brandon flowers can't sing for shit. his voice makes me want to claw my ears out other than him, the rest of the band is alright. they aren't great, just alright. their stuff is so pretentious yet lackluster. its pop that is trying to be meaningful and moving, yet its just empty. but like i said, they're alright, EXCEPT BRANDON FLOWERS!!! that guy is HORRIBLE!!! he knows about 3 musical notes, and randomly switches between them. and no, it isn't artistic the way he does that
Well bottom line is my vote goes to the Killers video. I like it more. :)
Modest Mouse's video throws me off--I wondered, "Is this art weird or for-the-hell-of-it weird?" The Killers win this one because they sat back artistically and let the video complement the song. I have a hard time understanding how exactly the Killers "blow." They're not the most musically complex act around, and sure, Brandon Flowers wears feathers, but it's tough to see the positives with one's nose in the air. Their lyrics are simple but earnest, and "Sam's Town" cemented their mastery of upbeat epic sound. Flowers's voice is... enough. He's not trying to sell us "Bridge Over Troubled Water" anyway, and he's far from horrible.
Got something to say?
