Third Man Vault to Let Loose White Stripes Live Album

White Stripes Live Album Live Under The Lights Of The Rising Sun Dead Weather Buzzkiller Announce

Jack White is out in the midst of a series of tour dates in support of his June solo album Lazaretto, but his vinyl-loving Third Man Records label churns on in his absence. Today, the Nashville audiophiles announced the release of the 21st installment in their quarterly Vault subscription series, set to comprise a White Stripes live LP and a Dead Weather 7″.

Culled from recordings of the band’s first trip to Japan in 2000, Under the Lights of the Rising Sun will feature 31 tracks from the era, including rare covers of Iggy Pop’s “I’m Bored” and Screaming Lord Sutch’s “I Walk Like Jayne Mansfield.” The full track list of the album is yet to be announced, but count on it looking pretty similar to their October 27 and October 28 setlists from Tokyo in that year.

The Dead Weather, meanwhile, are reportedly gearing up for the 2015 release of their third LP, so they’re sharing a new single featuring songs called “Buzzkill(er)” and “It’s Just Too Bad.” The deadline to subscribe to the 21st Vault Package is July 31 and the albums are expected to ship 6 to 8 weeks after that, so count on these new releases landing sometime in September.

You can preview a bit “Buzzkill(er) below, alongside a clip of the new live recording of “Hello Operator.”
