YouTube to Air Every Music Video Made. Ever.

YouTube Inc. is in talks with record labels to post every music video ever made available to users by the end of 2007. "What we really want to do is in six to 12 months, maybe 18 months, to have every music video ever created up on YouTube," co-founder Steve Chen told Reuters. "We're trying to bring in as much of this content as we can on to the site." YouTube users would then be allowed to add the clips to their profiles and post reviews.
Already, 60 percent of all videos watched online are viewed on YouTube, but the addition of current and archived music videos would make YouTube a closer competitor for mainstream entertainment websites like Yahoo. Both Warner Music Group and EMI confirmed to Reuters that they were in talks with YouTube to offer their artists' videos. The videos will, like all YouTube clips, be offered to users free of charge.
