Basically, the movie succeeds where the book faltered. Rob Pattinson's Edward and Kristen Stewart's Bella not only look the part, but they massage the kinks out of Stephenie Meyer's characters: He isn't weirdly paternal, she doesn't come across as weak and insecure.

You know the holidays are near when the music biz releases new albums by Kanye West, the Killers, Scott Weiland, and Guns N' Roses all in one jam-packed week. GNR's 15-years-in-the-making Chinese Democracy arrives Sun., Nov.23; the others drop on the more-traditional Tues., Nov. 25.

Despite mildly enjoying all the Nickelback I've ever heard (for those of you scoring at home, that's "How You Remind Me," "Photograph," and "Rock Star"), I most assuredly will not be joining millions of others in buying the band's new album, Dark House, when it comes out this Tuesday. Actually, I could get that shit or free.

Here's what I know about Katy Perry: Her album One of the Boys went gold, her single "I Kissed a Girl" went double-platinum, and her boyfriend is Gym Class Heroes cutie Travis McCoy.

Here's what I don't know about Katy Perry: How any of this is remotely possible.

Megapuss' first video is more than a goofy, half-assed George Michael tribute party. The collaboration between Devendra Banhart, his pal Greg Rogove, and the Strokes' Fabrizio Moretti is a sweetly endearing, jokingly homoerotic display the likes of which hasn't been seen since, well, the latest Judd Apatow movie.
