Metallica Reveal an Extensive North American Tour

The hard rock luminaries hit the road with their tenth album to date, Death Magnetic, and tap an equally shrapnel-shredding act to open: The Sword.

Who? Los Angeles-based hard rockers Metallica, plus a bevy of opening acts, including SPIN.com faves/Southern headbangers the Sword.

What? A monstrous 32-date North American tour in support of the band's tenth album to date, Death Magnetic, set to kick off in Glendale, Arizona on Oct. 21. From there, Metallica will hit cities in all corners of the U.S. while toting the Sword throughout the four-month excursion, which, on select dates, will also feature Down, Lamb of God, and Machine Head.

Should I Go? Yes! Even for non-metal fans, the union of Metallica and the Sword is a spectacle not to be missed. Like gods uniting, the master and the apprentice joining forces, these two rock acts will melt faces across the continent. And with the eyebrow-raising global release of Death Magnetic Sept. 12, Metallica is set to unveil new tunes live and surely pulverize. Keep those earplugs handy!
