A day after Brit rockers Coldplay racked up seven Grammy nominations for their blockbuster record Viva La Vida, it seems their luck has taken a turn for the worse. Virtuosic rock guitarist Joe Satriani, 52, has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the band for allegedly lifting "substantial original portions" of his 2004 instrumental "If I Could Fly" for Vida's title track. In the lawsuit, Satriani is seeking damages and "any and all profits" due to the alleged infringement. And this isn't the first time this year that Coldplay have been accused of ripping off another artist.
In June, New York indie rock band Creaky Boards claimed Martin had written the melody to "Viva La Vida" after attending one of their shows and hearing their similar-sounding (not to mention ironically titled) song "The Songs I Didn't Write."

Heard about this months ago, surprised something is happening.
Anyways, until he makes an official comment about it, Satriani is the absolute last person to care about something like this. It's definitely just his legal team pressuring him, and would want nothing more to do with it. He's being viewed as "the underdog" in this case but there's still a fair amount of idiots bashing him regardless.
Coldplay have built a career ripping off Radiohead's sound, now they are finally getting caught for stealing someone else's idea's!
And now Raidoheads in a fucking battle with Miley Cyrus. Ya they can only beat up little girls who have no tallent because they themselves are just above Miley Cyrus. Do you even listen to both artists doushe bag. I bet the only thing you listen to is fucking Jimmy Buffet and the fucking Jonas Brothers when you are with your fucking boyfriend.

i would invite Joe to take his guitar and lawsuit and shove it up his bald headed ass. Chris you did nothing wrong, it dosent sound a thing like Viva and why the fuck did he wait for Viva to be nominated for 7 Grammies. The album has been out for awhile now and he waits for the worst time to file the lawsuit, kind of weird huh.
