After teasing fans with a preview of his new material late last year, Prince has finally announced details for his ambitious three-album project -- and it's going to be released exclusively via Target!

Prince will release the set -- two new albums, LOtUSFLOWER and MPLSoUND, and one by his protégé, Bria Valente -- on March 29 through the retailer.

This isn't the first time Prince has experimented with methods of album releases. In 2007 he distributed free copies of Planet Earth in the U.K., along with British newspaper The Mail on Sunday.

Kudos to Prince. I've seen him perform in various settings over the past 25 years. I think he has a good heart, but still feels like he has not experienced fame. Or maybe it's that he just wants more money. He moves to Beverly Hills (as a primary residence) after declaring Minneapolis his dweling. Nothing against the LA area. I used to live there and was there this past weekend. But for somebody who was so intent on always considering Minneapolis his home, to relocate, makes me wonder why. As I've said, I've followed him for many years and continue to see him to perform any chance possible. I just hope he does not lose his head. Don't lose the edge you had from the beginning. You had been very cutting edge from the beginning. Don't lose that just in hopes for more profit. Yes, Target is a Minneapolis corporation, so great in that respect (Walmart is nothing but a sweat shop). But at this stage in your career, focus on what you want to do musically, rather than how you promote it. By the way, one of my best friends was at your show at the Conga Room and had a blast. Don't lose it. Peace.
