Passion Pit, 'Manners' (Frenchkiss)
Lovelorn extrovert stages glee-club extravaganza.

Poptimist Michael Angelakos tried to hold onto his girlfriend with Passion Pit's first EP. That didn't work (blame the self-obsessed lyrics), but on his band's debut full-length, their squeaky indie-pop theatrics are more convincing. Angelakos backs his falsetto with a gang of schoolkids, gestures toward the grandiose ("Folds in Your Hands"), even triples the keyboards of his live band. "The Reeling" suffers a bit from this embarrassment of resources, though "Little Secrets" has a giddy hook that could be a custom ringtone or a Hannah Montana crowd-pleaser. Unsexy? Yup. This dork disco is for cracking grins, not winning over women.

This review is completly inaccurate. Passion Pit successfully blends dark, yearning lyrics with up beat electronic glitchy pop. The children choirs add a bitter innoncence to the profound lyrics.
Miss Jessica Suarez obviously does'nt really know shit about Passion Pit. Poptistic? really? and the reference to hannah montana made me cringe. Passion Pit doesnt sound even remotely similar to that tween idol.
Wow, this review is terrible. The fan following of Passion Pit is getting to be huge. I think their lyrics and production is very original, not to mention they are fantastic live. Oh and every girl I've met who has listened to them absolutely adores them.
Got something to say?
